April 12th-18th of 2015 is National Telecommunicators Week. Have you thanked a 9-1-1 Call Taker or Dispatcher lately? Our Telecommunicators work 24 hours a day 365 days a year! They miss holidays, birthdays and special events with their family to ensure you and your family are able to get emergency assistance in their time of need, day or night!
9-1-1 Call Takers and Dispatchers are the ones who get you the help you need the moment you call, yet are often the first ones forgotten when the gratitude is handed out for a life or property saved. They dedicate their entire shift and every ounce of their energy to ensuring our field responders (Firefighters, EMS and Law Enforcement) go home safely to their families at the end of their shifts.
We always want to ensure our Call Takers and Dispatchers know how much they’re appreciated and how crucial they are to the field of emergency services, but especially this week! This is their week to celebrate their profession, the amazing thankless work they do behind the scenes and all they sacrifice to keep our community safe, day in and day out.
