Yakima County 9-1-1 also known as “SunComm” is a multi-agency, multi-discipline, multi-jurisdiction 9-1-1 and Dispatch center serving the City and County of Yakima.

How are 9-1-1 Calls Processed?

Our 9-1-1 Call Takers answer every single 9-1-1 call that is placed from anywhere in Yakima County. Once the call is answered, our highly skilled professionals will work with you to determine your location and the type of assistance you need. Call Takers will often ask numerous questions, but don’t worry this isn’t slowing anyone down from coming to your aid.

As the Call Taker remains on the telephone line with you, their Dispatcher partners are speaking to the appropriate responders who will come to your aid. The whole process is very quick, efficient and designed to save lives!
